TRAVERSE CITY — Marie Evelyn Zak, 65, lifelong resident of Traverse City, passed away at her home. Marie was born on March 6, 1946, in Traverse City, to the late Joseph E. and Annastasia C. (Peplinski) Flohe. In her spare time, Marie enjoyed embroidery, listening to music, playing the accordion and gardening. Above all else, she loved being with her family. Marie is survived by her daughters, Stacy (Jeff) Smith, of Traverse City, and Dustin (Dawn) Kucera, of Grawn; grandsons, Sebastian Kucera, Brandon and Tyler Smith, Gabriel and Jeremiah Kucera. She is also survived by her brother, George (Snookie) Flohe. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Alban Zak; daughter, Marcia Kucera; brothers, Lewis and Joe Flohe; and sister, Elizabeth Flohe. Graveside services will take place Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at 2:30 p.m., at Oakwood Catholic Cemetery.
