TRAVERSE CITY — Marika Wilma Ahlberg, 66, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully Oct. 2, 2010, at Munson Medical Center.Marika was born Feb. 7, 1944, to Geza and Marika Tanos in Budapest, Hungary.Marika enjoyed crafting, hosting parties, and crocheting. Her family loved receiving her handmade cards and beautiful needlepoint creations. She also enjoyed watching movies.Marika is survived by her husband of 28 years, Jim; her children, Mike Mullen, of Pentwater, Theresa (Eric) Reischling, of Flushing, James (Tracie) Mullen, of Traverse City, and Jim's children, Teri (Andrew) Roach, of Phoenix, and Randall Ahlberg. Marika is also survived by seven grandchildren, Corey-Ann, Cassidy and Lucas Mullen, of Pentwater, Ethan and Nolan Reischling, of Flushing, and Patrick and Jennifer Roach, of Phoenix; two great-grandchildren, Bryn and Sadie; and siblings, Tommy and Betty.She was preceded in death by her parents.Marika's life will be celebrated with a party hosted by the family at a later date.Memorial contributions in Marika's honor may be directed to Michigan Major Project through the Traverse City Elk's Lodge 323.The family has made arrangements with Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
