Marilyn Geanne Risden

TRAVERSE CITY – Marilyn Geanne Risden, 77, of Traverse City, passed away on May 9, 2016. Marilyn was born in Jackson, MI., to the late Leon Eugene and Donna (Nees) Wright.

She raised 3 children and lived in Jackson, Muskegon and Coopersville before relocating to Traverse City in 2011. Marilyn attended the Living Hope Assembly of God, enjoyed singing, cooking, and baking her renowned apple pies for friends. She was especially fond of her dog Nakee, and shopping for treasures at area thrift stores.

Marilyn is survived by her children; daughter, Terrie (David) Fox of Harbor Springs; sons, Tyson Risden of Traverse City, Kyle (Susan) Maycroft of Coopersville; grand children, Kasi Ostyn, Brett Green, Kaetlyn, Paige, Sierra, Saxton, Cydney, Joslin, Connor, Colton, Ava, Jillian; great-grandchildren, Billy, Raven, Aaron, Brodi, Jaylynn: half-sister, Carol Wright.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Darlene Pritt; brother, Jerry Nees.

A memorial service will be held for family and friends on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with visitation held one hour prior.

Memorial contributions in Marilyn's name may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
