Traverse City - Marilyn Joyce Roush, 76, of Traverse City passed away October 2, 2016 at her home, surrounded by her family.
Marilyn was born on September 30, 1940 in Traverse City to the late Clois Jay and Edith Alice (Gilles) Boone.
Marilyn was a graduate of Suttons Bay Schools and of the Muskegon School of Business in 1960.
On October 29, 1960 Marilyn married the love of her life Alfred in Suttons Bay, at the First Congregational Church.
She worked for WTCM as an administrative assistant, Chef Pierre and Shaklee Corporation Distributor for more then 43 years.
In her spare time Marilyn enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting, arranging silk flowers, and bowling in various leagues. Above all else, Marilyn will be remembered for her devotion to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marilyn is survived by her children Jay (Vanessa) Roush of Kingsley, Alfred Jan Roush of Traverse City, Roxanne Roush of Traverse City, and Sonya Youker of Kingsley; 10 grandchildren Allyn Roush, Justin Roush, Jene (Ryan) Levan, Louise Roush, Ian Roush, Dustin (Maggie) Baker, Megan Forbush, David (Sarah) Youker, Robert Youker, and Dillon Youker; 12 great grandchildren; sister Barbara Macksey; nephews Jeffrey (Ruth) Challender, Perry Challender, James (Debbie) Macksey, Trudy (Jason) Beach; many friends and special family pet Pee Wee.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Alfred C. Roush in 1987.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, October 6, from 5 to 8 pm at Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Graveside services will take place at a later date at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
