Marilyn Kay VanDyke, 69, of Interlochen, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Marilyn was born on June 29, 1946 in Iron Mountain, MI and was raised in Buckley, MI.
Marilyn drove a school bus for Traverse City Area Public Schools for over 30 years. She loved her boys and her family dogs. Marilyn had a wonderful sense of humor and was always the life of the party.
Marilyn is survived by her sons Todd Richards of Sarasota, FL; Tim (Maria) Richards of Traverse City; and Eric Richards of Boston, MA. She is also survived by grandchildren, Bianca, Hudson, Logan, and Olivia Richards; her husband, Robert; and brothers, Gary, Gale, Ken, and Phillip Janofski; and sister, Linda Kekke.
Friends are welcome to visit with Marilyn's family on Friday, August 7, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth Street, Traverse City, MI 49684.
A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Gale Janofski will officiate. Burial will follow in Cornell Cemetery, Buckley, MI.
In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial donation to the American Cancer Society.
