Northport – Marilyn Louise Wetherbee, 93, of Northport passed away at home with her family by her side on October 28.
Marilyn was born on August 25, 1922 to Benjamin and Margaret (Shook) Sharp in Elkhart, IN. She married Jim Wetherbee on September 8, 1945.
She moved to Northport in 1972 and devoted the next 18 years to teaching 3rd grade at Northport Public School. Marilyn had two life passions: teaching and her family. Upon her retirement she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her husband and family.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Jim; daughter Susan (Samy) Yassa of Alexandria, Egypt; sons Thomas (Debra) of Northport, Stephen (Char Bickel) of Northport, 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
As per Marilyn's wishes cremation has taken place. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
