Marion A. Martin passed away August 30, 2015 in Traverse City. She was born in Traverse City to Joseph and Cecelia (Zenner) Boehnlein. On August 31, 1946, in Louisville, KY, she married Reuben "Fred" Martin, who preceded her in death on August 3, 2003.
Marion received her associate's degree from Northwestern Michigan College and worked for Michigan Bell doing wiring in the frame department. She retired in 1983. She had been a lifelong parishioner at St. Francis Catholic Church.
Marion is survived by five sons, Gregory (Donna), Roderick (Sherry), Robert (Barbara), Richard, and Mark; three granddaughters, Brooke, Amanda, and Emily, great-grandchild Aria; and two sisters, Agnes and Hilda. In addition to her husband, Fred, she was preceded in death by her parents and five sisters, Kathleen, Gertrude, Ruthie, Helen Jane, and Imelda.
The family would like to express their special thanks to Betty Plough for her help in caring for Marion over the last few years.
A private graveside service has taken place at Monroe Center Cemetery in Grawn. A memorial mass celebrating Marion's life will be held at St. Francis Catholic Church Saturday, Sept. 12 at 12:30 PM.
