TRAVERSE CITY – Marjorie Inez Allen, age 77, of Traverse City, passed away Monday, December 5, 2016 at the Munson Medical Center in the loving care of her family.
Marjorie was born to Rolland and Treva, on June 4, 1939 in Hanover, MI. Marjorie grew up in Southern Michigan on the family farm where she learned the value of hard work.
Marjorie saw the value in life not so much in material possessions, but in little things; like having the whole family under one roof, and playing board games with each other. She absolutely adored her children, and grandchildren. Throughout her working years she did everything she could to provide and support her family, everything she did in life she gave it her all. She saw the best in people and never seemed to hold on grudge on anyone.
Marjorie is survived by her children; Sandra Allen, of Traverse City, Shawn (Wendy) Allen, Iowa, Phillip Hilliard, Traverse City, Felicia Hilliard, Traverse City, Robert Hilliard, Traverse City, and her sister, Georgia Sassaman, White Pigeon, grandchildren; Brandon (Amy) DeLoy, Nastasha Grennan, Alysa Hilliard, and Brendon King, great-grandchildren; Jace DeLoy, Avery DeLoy, and Mia Worthington. Marjorie is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, and her two brothers.
A memorial service for Marjorie will take place at 3:00 pm on Friday, December 9, 2016 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior.
