Grawn- Marjorie M. Flansburg, 88, of Grawn, died Tuesday September 6, 2016, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and John Bilow. Her family and loving dog Korkie were by her side.
Marjorie (also known as Marcia) was born October 12, 1927, in Grant Township, MI to the late Russell and Clara (Woods) Bush. She married Orville Flansburg on October 27, 1945 in Grant Township .
Marjorie was a full time homemaker, but also helped her husband with the family business, Flansburg Builders.
She had a tremendous love of reading, gardening, nature and all animals. Marjorie enjoyed traveling with her husband and was well known for her baking. While her children were growing, she was a foster mother and 4-H leader. Her constant companion and beloved black lab, Korkie, was the light of her life.
Surviving Marjorie are her three children; Arleta (Nanda) Bagchi, Barbara (John) Bilow and Daniel (Katherine) Flansburg. She is also survived by five grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Her brother Ted Bush and sister Betty Cooper also survive her.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her loving husband Orville, sisters; Ruth Cooper, Hazel Cook and Dorothy Komrska, as well as her brothers; Basil Bush and Russell Bush Jr.
A celebration of Life will be held on September 13, 2016 at 11:00am at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral home with a visitation one hour prior.
Marjorie's final resting place will be Downs Cemetery with her husband.
