Obituary

Marjorie A. Foster of Traverse City passed away on May 13, 2017.

Marjorie was born in Flint in 1918. Employed at General Motors and the City of Flint in her younger years, she loved being a homemaker for her family. In 1940 she married George Clifford Foster who was her husband for 68 loving years until his death. She is survived by her son George I. Foster and daughter-in-law Suzi Gugel both of Traverse City. Daughter Marcia (Foster) Sills and son-in-law Randy Sills both of Kalkaska, grand-daughter Kim Sills, Kim's fiancee Andrew Elliott, and great grand-children Asher and Autumn Elliott all of Traverse City, also survive.

Preceding her in death were her father Fred DeCou and mother Helen (Hovey) Decou, brother Sidney DeCou and sisters Edythe (DeCou) West and Ada (DeCou) York, all originally from Flint.

Moving to the Traverse City area with her husband George upon his retirement in 1982, they loved residing up-north in the area where they spent many summer vacations. They both were long time members of the First Church of Christ Scientist in Flint and later, Traverse City.

A memorial service was held for the immediate family in Traverse City. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Church of Christ Scientist -Traverse City, 330 Sixth St., Traverse City, MI 49684.
