Marjorie "Marge" Hayes, 72, of Cedar, MI., passed away suddenly, surrounded by her family on July 28, 2014. Marge was born in Melvindale, MI., on June 24, 1942, to her parents the late Aloysius and Reba (Downing) Vonderhaar. She graduated from Lincoln Park High School in 1960 and in 1962 married her devoted husband for 51 years, Theodore Hayes. She graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1967 earning a degree in education.

Marge was a friend to everyone, and was known for her cooking and entertaining with her family, friends and spending time with her precious grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, playing tennis, golf, and listening to her favorite Motown tunes. When you think of Marge, "smile"!

Marge is survived by her husband, Theodore Hayes; son, Allen Hayes; sisters, Marie Rebecca Vonderhaar, Mary Jane (Tom) Bousamra, Dorothy (Patrick) Keller; sister-in-law, Mary(Jim) Voeks, Catherine (Joe) Hayes; grandchildren, Cody, Kyle, Elliot and Preston; Aunt to several nieces and nephews and friend to many in Traverse City area, Stuart, FL., and the Downriver Community.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Anthony Hayes.
