Mark A. Hullman

September 25, 1946 — April 20, 2023

Mark A. Hullman of Williamsburg, Michigan, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 20, 2023, while working at his office.

Mark was born on September 25, 1946, in Detroit, MI, to the late Arnold W. and Betty J. (Miller) Hullman. He attended Redford High School and went to Michigan State University as an undergraduate, where he met and married his wife, Sharon (Kucharek), in his senior year of college. He went on to study at the University of Michigan Law School where he earned his JD in 1971. Mark practiced in Lansing and metropolitan Detroit before moving to Traverse City, where he established his own practice.

Mark was a man of faith who loved his family and his community. He enjoyed working with youth at church, in Community Bible Study and through the Kids Hope mentor program. He was instrumental in acquiring the Keystone Soccer Complex and worked continually with youth soccer, coaching his sons and grandson in elementary school and as they continued to play in junior and senior high school. Most recently, Mark was President of Traverse City Central High School Soccer Boosters Program, where he helped the program flourish. Mark and Sharon also had an exchange daughter, Kana, from Japan who is still a part of their extended family.

He loved his chosen profession and was an excellent attorney. He was a strong advocate for his clients and was a principled man who never compromised his beliefs. He was a visionary who loved working alongside developers and even acted as a construction manager when building his two homes.

Mark was drawn to Traverse City and Northern Michigan because of his love of the outdoors. He spent countless hours biking, swimming, golfing and walking through the woods and sand dunes – passions that he has passed on to his sons and grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Sharon; his two sons Aaron (Martha) and Jason, his grandchildren, Nathan, Westley Rose, Andrew, Caroline, and Patrick; his brother Paul (Linda); nephew David (Roberta Mangini); his nieces Jessica (Cullen) Stephenson and Rebecca (Ian) Runkel; and his many friends and colleagues.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for you to consider memorial contributions to the Faith Reformed Church Youth Program, Community Bible Study or the Grand Traverse Land Conservancy.
