Martha Ann Irwin, died on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the age of 92. She was born in Three Rivers, MI, to her parents, Hubert and Harriet Lott.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Jerry Irwin and granddaughter, Josephine Irwin. She is survived by her son, Michael (Sunny) Irwin; her daughter, Laura (John) Stevenson; grandchildren Claire (Wilhelm) Siebert, Rebecca (Kyle)Glancy, Nathaniel Irwin, Natalie (William) Otte, and great grandchildren Remington, Everleigh, Gerhard, Mallory and Cooper.
Martha Ann received her B.S. from Western Michigan University. Throughout her life, Martha Ann was very active in raising her family, involved in service organizations and clubs that focused on hospital patients, doll collecting and the arts. As a trained artist and art teacher, she enjoyed working with oils and colored pencils while capturing the beauty of nature.
She and her husband were avid golfers, enjoyed time at the lake in northern Michigan and enjoyed attending musical performances like the Grand Rapids Symphony and Interlochen Arts Academy. Martha Ann will be dearly missed by her family, friends and acquaintances. She approached life with love, creativity and zest, resulting in a happy and fulfilling life.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Frederick Meijer Gardens and Sculptures, or Helen Devos Children's Hospital, both of Grand Rapids, MI.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, August 5, with a visitation at 10:00 a.m., followed by a 11:00 a.m. service at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth Street, Traverse City MI. Interment will take place later in Riverside Cemetery, Three Rivers, Michigan.
