Obituary

Martin Paul Ross, 68, of Traverse City, formerly of Sterling Heights and Harper Woods Michigan, died Tuesday night, September 26, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on May 22nd, 1955, in Detroit, he was the son of the late Paul and Mary (Huetteman) Ross. On February 4th, 1977 (in a snowstorm) he married the love of his life, Debra Lomasney, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Harper Woods.

Marty was a born again, Spirit filled believer in Jesus Christ and a loving family man. In a pivotal point in his life, he moved his family to Traverse City in 1991. Marty treasured his family and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren in the great outdoors. His outdoor pursuits included hunting, fishing, boating, biking, skiing and hiking. He enjoyed a lifelong career in the trades as a builder with an eye for detail and an unmatched work ethic.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Debra Ross of Traverse City; children, Brian (Johnna) Ross of Traverse City, Laurie (Melzar) Coulter of Traverse City and Linda (Will) Richards of Grand Rapids; and seven grandchildren, Martin and Elsie Ross, Isaac, Evan and Sylvia Coulter, and Sophia and Hannah Richards, and many more loving family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at Harbor Brook Hall on Monday October 2nd, 2023, at 1 p.m., with time to greet the family beginning at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow. Please feel free to come dressed in your casual summer attire.

Marty's love for his family and his faith will impact many generations to come. To that end, in lieu of flowers and in remembrance of Marty, donations may be directed to Charis Bible College at www.charisbiblecollege.org/give/ or the TART Trails VASA Pathway at www.traversetrails.org/give/donate/
