Marvin L. Emery, Age 82, of Traverse City, has gone to be with his Lord Monday, July 20, 2026. He was surrounded by his family, following a long battle of illness. Marvin was born November 6, 1943, in Quincy, Illinois, to the late James and Rachel Emery. He was the second of four boys.
Marv was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. After graduation from Howell High School in 1961, Marv met the love of his life, Linda Clague. They married August 12, 1967, in Whitmore Lake, Michigan, then moved to Traverse City in 1971 to continue his machinist career with RM Young Co. He was a hardworking, loyal employee until retiring in 2006.
Marvin loved his NASCAR races, attending car shows, and anything on wheels; especially his 1967 Mustang. Marv loved his wonderful wife, son, and precious grandkids more than anything. Summers were often spent camping, traveling, and enjoying pancakes at Randy’s Diner. Marv attended The Orchard Church for many years. Both his church family and his bible study group of 30 years, meant so much to him.
Marv is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Emery, his son, Rodney T. (Marci) Emery, his grandchildren, Kayla (Andrew) Drummond. Rachel Emery and Thomas Emery. His brother, Larry R. (Bea) Emery, and his sister-in-law; Leann Emery, his greatgrandchildren Aiden, Bella, and Corbin, and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Rachel Emery, and his brothers James R. Emery and Ralph E. Emery.
