Traverse City – Mary Palmer Adams, 79, of Traverse City, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Mary was born to the late Howard and Marie (Laginess) Carson on September 25, 1936 in Detroit, MI. Mary was the beloved wife to the late John Palmer (1953-1973) and the late William Frank Adams (1975-2001).

She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She instilled a love of the outdoors through vacations in East Tawas. The Palmer family cabin was the setting of vacations and family get-togethers with Thanksgiving being a special time. Family would gather to celebrate not only a time of thanks, but the love of deer season "up north". In 2000 Mary bought her first camper and parked it in the East Tawas City Park where summers were spent enjoying the shores of Lake Huron. Mary and Kathryn moved to Traverse City in 2002, but still spent the summers in East Tawas walking the docks, shopping and enjoying the beauty of the area.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Marie Carson; husbands Jonn Palmer and William Frank Adams; son Dennis Palmer; brothers James (late Dolores) Carson and Robert (late Betty) Carson; sister Eleanor (late Matt) Kehoe and stepson Larry Adams.

She is survived by her children Kathryn Palmer, John (Karen) Palmer, Rick (Terri) Palmer; step-children Steve (Suzanne) Adams and Tim Adams; grandchildren Jennifer (Matt) Knight, John (Rachel) Palmer, Amber (Mike) Traicoff, Dan (Elizabeth) Palmer and Bobby Palmer; 'Gigi' to Joshua and Nicholas Knight, Vera and Elsie Palmer, Michael and Jocelyn Traicoff; brother Thomas (late Mae) Carson; sisters-in-law Pat (late Michael) Palmer, Margaret (late George) Breil and Bernice (late Ray) Lezotte, and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held January 16, 2016 at St Patrick Catholic Church, 630 S West Silver Lake Road, Traverse City, MI at 11 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Private inurnment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in East Tawas, MI.
