TRAVERSE CITY – Meme Babcock Smith, 58, of Traverse City, died on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Grand Traverse Pavilions. Meme was born on November 20, 1954 in Louisville, KY to the late Harry and Nina (Whitney) Babcock. She was married to Mark Smith on June 19, 1976 in Louisville. He survives her. Meme enjoyed walking along the beach searching for Petoskey stones, which she often gave as gifts to loved ones. She was an excellent cook, a caring and loving mother and friend, and could always make others laugh.

Surviving are her husband, Mark, two daughters; Abigail Smith and Elizabeth Smith and two brothers; Whitney Babcock and Squire Babcock.

A family service of remembrance will be hold at a later date. In accordance with Meme's wishes cremation has taken place.
