Mrs. Mary Jane Everett-Barr, passed away on February 16, 2026, in Traverse City, Michigan, at the age of 79, following a long illness.

Born on May 15, 1946, in Marlborough, Massachusetts, Mary was the daughter of Frank and Ruth Perini.

Mary pursued her education at Framingham State University in Framingham, Massachusetts, where she earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Sociology. Graduating Magna Cum Laude and Summa Cum Laude respectively, she exemplified academic excellence and intellectual curiosity.

She built a successful career as a sales representative for several life insurance companies.

Known for her quick wit, honesty, and engaging personality, Mary made friends easily and greatly enjoyed their company.

An amateur photographer with an eye for beauty, she found fulfillment in capturing meaningful moments through her lens. A passionate reader and avid traveler, she delighted in discovering new ideas and places. At home, gardening brought her peace and creative joy.

Her greatest happiness came from family. She was a beloved wife to Daniel E. Barr of Traverse City, Michigan, and a devoted mother to her daughter Nicole M. Everett of Marlborough, Massachusetts. Her love and unwavering support left an enduring impact on their lives.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 11:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1025 S. Union St., Traverse City. Family will welcome visitors an hour prior to the service starting at 10:00 am. A luncheon will follow.
