Mary Genevieve Glowicki

Mary Genevieve Glowicki, 87 of Lake Leelanau passed away on Thursday April 3, 2014 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions.

Mary was born on August 7, 1926 in Detroit to the late Jesse E. and Mary (Hyde) Morrow. On August 5, 1950 Mary married Edmund Joseph Glowicki. In 1975 Mary and Edmund relocated from Detroit to Lake Leelanau.

Mary had a life time of accomplishments which included working 30 years for The Federal Reserve Bank in Detroit followed by 25 years with Empire National Bank in Traverse City. Mary was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Lake Leelanau. She enjoyed her dogs and horses and was a competitive equestrian rider. In her spare time she enjoyed volunteering at Munson Medical Center.

Surviving Mary is her husband Edmund of 63 years, son Mark (Denise) Glowicki of Lake Leelanau, two grandsons, Martin Glowicki and Evan Glowicki of Suttons Bay and sister Suzanne Morrow.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, John Morrow, Robert Morrow, and Jesse Morrow.

Visitation for Mary will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014 from 5-7pm with a 7pm rosary at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place at 11am on Saturday, April 12, 2014 also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Cherryland Humane Society, Women's Resource Center or the Salvation Army.
