Mary Jo Hagaman, 76, passed away peacefully on March 5th, 2014 at Sunrise of North Ann Arbor with her daughter at her side. She was born on October 1, 1937 in Traverse City, MI to Charles and Helen (Bloom) Kucera.
Mary Jo grew up in Cedar Michigan and graduated from Maple City high School. after high school she attended Michigan State University. After this she began work at Cone Drive as an executive secretary where she worked for ten years.
Mary Jo married Jerry Hagaman in 1968 in Traverse City. They were happily married for 45 years. They enjoyed traveling, renovating their homes, camping in their RV and spending time at their home in Florida. She was particularly proud of her three grandchildren Josh, Caleb, and Emma; she produced many handmade knitted items for them to cherish. Jo had an infectious laugh and a great sense of humor. She faced her many health ordeals with courage and determination. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jerry.
Mary Jo is survived by her daughter, Jodi (Christopher) Overbeek, of Milan, MI, Her sister, Louise Hagerty, her brother-in-law Frank Hagerty, her grandchildren Joshua, Caleb and Emma Overbeek, and her nieces Kim Hagerty (Antonio) and Tammy Hagerty(Bruce),and nephew Mckeel Hagerty (Soon).
A memorial service will be held in the spring At Reynolds -Jonkhoff Funeral Home.The family requests memorials in Mary's name be made to the American Cancer Society.
