Mary Louise Herweyer, age 66, of Traverse City, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025.

Mary worked as a business manager for the Copper Ridge Surgery Center in Traverse City for many years. She loved her job and the people she worked with. She was a loving mother whose family meant everything to her. She was an avid reader and cook, and her loved ones will remember her sense of humor and enjoyment of music.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Ray Herweyer; siblings: William Dean, Linda Roy; and siblings-in-law: Patricia Dean, Judith (Michael) Nagy, Rosemary (Joseph) Smith.

She is survived by her daughter, Carly (Adam) Jakubowski; siblings: Charles Dean, Barbara (Dennis) Clemens; sister-in-law, Tina Dean; and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St. Traverse City. Family will welcome visitors an hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude's Children Hospital or the Cherryland Humane Society.
