Mary Joan Judd, 87, of Traverse City passed away Sunday, June 14, 2015, at her home in Traverse City.
Mary was born on Thursday, March 1, 1928, to the late Bernard and Gladys (Collins) Sullivan in Charlevoix. She married Jack E. Judd on Sunday, June 2, 1946, in Traverse City.
Mary had been employed as an engineering clerk with Michigan Bell Telephone. She had many interests in life, including traveling with her late husband, rug making, baking and spending Tuesdays at The Gathering Place in Honor to listen to music, dance and sing. Mary was a member of the Northwest Michigan Woodcarvers Guild and the Red Hats Society.
She is survived by her children, Jackie Johnson of Pentwater; John Judd of Traverse City; her grandchildren, Stuart (Lori) Johnson, Sara (Scott) Dana, Glenn (Keena) Johnson, Errin (Andrew) Wodarski, Jason (Meg) Judd and Justin Judd. Also surviving are her great grandchildren, Nicholas and Paige Johnson, Samuel and Joshua Johnson, Joe and Sophia Dana, Kylie and Cole Wodarski and Lily and Pilar Judd. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack on Nov. 21, 2007 and her son-in-law Dennis Johnson on Sept. 15, 2001.
The visitation for Mary will begin at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 19 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home followed by the Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. Celebrant Tim Moeggenberg will conduct the service.
