Mary Madeline Klimek, 93, of Williamsburg, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Hope Village.
Mary was born on April 25, 1922 in New Boston, MI, to the late John and Veronica (Perzyk) Lukomski, the 8th of 11 children. She married the late Mitchell Klimek on August 30, 1940 in the Irish Hills, at St. Joseph Shrine.
She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Parish in Dearborn for over 50 years. She was a member of the Altar Society for many of those years. Religion was important to Mary and she stressed it for her children and grandchildren.
Mary was a wonderful cook and hosted many parties for every occasion and family function. Her simple cooking, which always turned into a feast, tasted great. Mary was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all who loved her.
Surviving Mary are her daughters, Dolores Riser of Manitou Beach, MI; Christine (Glen) Cavanaugh of Williamsburg, MI; Veronica (Gordon) LaPointe of Williamsburg, MI; Janet Klimek of Detroit, MI; Cynthia Hicks of Addison, MI; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, three great- great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Mitchell, siblings, son-in-law, John Hicks and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Noon for Mary on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the Irish Hills St. Joseph Shrine, in Brooklyn, MI with a visitation beginning at 11a.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Church or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
