Mary Margaret Koper, 65 of Traverse City passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Munson Hospice House surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was born on September 9, 1948 in Petoskey MI to the late Aldwin and Cecelia (Haidysh) Wager. She married Thomas Walter Koper on November 17, 1978 in Petoskey and then moved to Traverse City. Together they lovingly raised two boys.
Mary was a dedicated homemaker and enjoyed being able to stay at home and raise her boys and her dogs. She was a wonderful cook, baker and made delicious chocolate chip cookies. She loved exploring the internet, working in the garden and watching animal rescue shows on Animal Planet. Mary was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. She will be remembered for her strong personality, warm smile and love for her family.
Surviving Mary is her husband Tom, sons, Jason "Jay" Koper, Michael "Mike" Koper, grandchildren Daeana and Velencia, brother Bob (Linda) Wager, two dogs, Bo and Keeper, and many other loving family members and friends.
Funeral services will take place at 11am on Monday, October 7, 2013 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with a visitation held one hour prior. Deacon Rene Hoenscheid will officiate. Memorial contributions may be directed to AC Paws.
