TRAVERSE CITY — Mary Jane Lievense, 87, passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010. She had the contentment of enjoying a fulfilled life.Mary was born on April 9, 1923, in Detroit, and grew up in Jackson. On Aug. 14, 1944, she married Stanley Lievense, who survives her after 66 years of marriage.Also surviving Mary are her children, Jeanne (Werner) Zielke, Dick (Lynn) Lievense, and John (Camille) Lievense; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.Mary was preceded in death by her sister; four brothers; and her special needs daughter, Beth Lievense, whom Mary lovingly cared for at home until she died in 1997.Mary was a faithful member of St. Francis Catholic Church, and for several years a volunteer at the Father Fred Foundation. Many people will miss Mary because she had lots of friends. She was always very caring and devoted, especially to her family. Mary was a fine person in every way.A private family service will be held at a later date.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Father Fred Foundation, P.O.
