Mary "Irma" Mallion

TRAVERSE CITY — Mary "Irma" Mallion, 88, of Traverse City, passed away Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015.
Irma was born as one of 18 children on Sept. 4, 1927 in Lake Leelanau to the late Alfred and Clara (Bussey) Denoyer. She married the late Robert H. Mallion on Oct. 11, 1947 in Lake Leelanau.
Irma worked at Sears for 22 dedicated years and retired in 1984. She was a member of the Holy Family in Caldonia, a life member of the V.F.W. Post #3023 and a member at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Volunteering and spending time with her family always made her smile. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Surviving Irma, are her children, Carol (Jack) Anderson, Gary Mallion and Nancy Mallion; grandchildren, Amanda, Jennifer, Jina and Janis; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Leonard (Phyllis) Denoyer.
Irma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bob and 16 siblings, Edward, Francis, George, Gerald, Lewis, Ovilla, Ruben, Marie, Lavina, Lucille, Genevieve, Helen, Leo, Dorothy, Fritz and Geraldine.
Visitation will be held today from 5 to 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at noon also at the Funeral Home with a visitation beginning at 11 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Patrick Catholic Church.
