December 17, 1910 — January 28, 2013

Traverse City-Mary Marguerite "Marge" Lang, 102, of Traverse City, formerly of Detroit, died Monday evening, January 28, 2013, at Bortz Health Care of Traverse.

Born December 17, 1910, in Buffalo, New York, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Berescki) Varga.

Marge retired from Cone Drive Gear in 1975. She transfered to Cone in September 1971, after many years with the parent company, Michigan Tool, in Detroit. She worked as a confidential secretary. This was a position that she thoroughly enjoyed.

She was a long time member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Variety Club.

She relished sharing her time and treasures with others as she volunteered with Munson Medical Center and the Osteopathic Hospital.

The Senior Center provided a great source of comfort for her as she participated in various activities and meeting new friends.

Marge's zest for life and kind heart graced her with many lifetime cherished friends and family. Her love of people and gentle spirit enriched, encouraged and brightened our days. We are grateful and blessed to have had her in our lives and she will remain in our hearts forever.

For those who would like to celebrate Marge's life and legacy, a Memorial Service will be held at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Tuesday afternoon, February 5, 2013, at 3:00 P.M, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Anthony Citro will officiate.

Marge is survived by her daughter, Judith Lang of Traverse City; one niece and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, John L. Varga.

Cremation has taken place.

Burial will take place later at Mt Olivet Cemetery in Detroit.

Judi would like to acknowledge the special care givers at Bortz Health Care for the friendship and wonderful care given to Marge. You are all so special.
