Obituary

Mary Lillian McLeish, 90, of Williamsburg passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2014. Mary was born on January 21, 1924 to Harley R. Nutter and Sadie M. Nutter of Ritchie County, Virginia.

She married James R. McLeish on August 19th, 1941 in Cumberland, Maryland, moving to the Grand Traverse area in 1952.

Outside the home, Mary was a bookkeeper, interior decorator, and worked in the insurance field. When not working she enjoyed fishing, gardening, mushrooming and was a long time antique collector. She was a marvelous cook. A lover of animals, Mary was devoted to, and blessed with, many pet partners over the years.

She was preceded in death by her husband James; father Harley Nutter; mother Sadie Nutter; sister Juanita Baker; brothers Paul, John, and Ralph Nutter; son James McLeish; and grandson Michael McLeish.

Mary is survived by her sister Betty McKee; brother Robert Nutter; daughter Sheri (Harry) Dorman; daughter-in-law Deborah McLeish; granddaughters Heather (Bill) Yunck, Jennifer (Mike) Sullivan, and Rebecca (Chris) Hummel; grandsons Scott McLeish, Troy (Kirsten) Keith, and Mike (Wendy) Dorman; and nine great grand children.

A private memorial service may take place at a later date.
