Mary Mcwatters

October 23, 1953 — January 6, 2021

Mary L. McWatters, 67, of Traverse City, passed away January 6, 2021, at the Grand Traverse Pavilions. Mary, a very faith-based woman, was born October 23, 1953, to the late Eugene and Rosalie Dennin, one of four children in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Mary was employed at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey as a phlebotomist, and later provided day care while raising her children. She was a long time member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She enjoyed painting and her cat, Doodah. Although faced with many health challenges, Mary had a kind heart and lived life to the fullest. She will be greatly missed.

Mary is survived by her sister, Carrie (Jerry) Eby; her daughters, Ronda (Michael) Stutzman, Maria Jenkins (Chuck Dalton) and Mary Bea McWatters (Greg Fuller); as well as sons, Jordan (Marja) McWatters and William (Jamie) McWatters; grandchildren, Lucas, Logan, Lexis, Chloe, Karina, Juniper, Chavi, Dennin, Michael, Caitlin, and grand-kitty, Luna. She is also survived by brothers, Michael (Marty) and Patrick (Lisa) Dennin, as well as many nieces, nephews, and special friends. The family is very grateful for Mary's care-givers, especially Dawn & Michelle.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

The family wishes to extend a personal thank-you to Mary's St. Francis family, especially Mr. Fred.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing an expression of sympathy may choose to donate to St. Francis Catholic Church or The Father Fred Foundation in Mary's honor.

A memorial Mass will be offered at a later date.

The family is being cared for by the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
