Waterford, MI - Mary Mildred "Mickey" Kaufman, 94, formally of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2013. Mildred was born on February 14, 1919, to the late David S. and Elizabeth (Rea) Gilchrist in Guelph, Ontario, Canada.

Mildred married Stewart R. Kaufman (deceased) on February 14, 1941 in Toronto, Canada and the couple raised two sons and a daughter (deceased) and enjoyed 64 years of marriage.

Mildred is survived by her two sons; Alan (Shirley) Kaufman of White Lake, and Keith (Gloria) Kaufman of Interlochen, Grandchildren; Kirk (Jennifer) Kaufman of Lake Orion, Mechele Ryska of Milford and Heather York (Aaron) of Interlochen; Great Grandchildren, Austin, Sage, Sky, Isabel and Carter; Sister, M. Jean Claxton of Elora, Ontario and Brother, William Gilchrist of Sarnia, Ontario.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with a visitation to be held one hour prior.

In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that memorial contributions be directed to the Traverse City Humane Society.
