TRAVERSE CITY — Mary Elizabeth Pollock, 65, of Traverse City, died July 26, 2011, at Munson Hospice House. She was born May 10, 1946, in Louisville, Ky., and adopted by James and Mary (Garvey) Taylor, of Detroit. She attended school in Detroit, then in Birmingham, graduating from Marian High School in 1964. She attended the University of Michigan, receiving a Bachelor of Art in English in 1968 and master's in 1970. At the time of her death she was employed by Munson Home Health.She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Old Town Neighborhood Association and the American Association of University Women.In her spare time she enjoyed reading, needlework and volunteering at local events such as the Traverse City Film Festival.She is survived by son, Charles, of Clearwater, Fla.; twin daughters, Anne, of Atlanta, Ga., and Elizabeth, of Egg Harbor City, N.J.; and two grandsons, Jackson and Austin of Clearwater, Fla. The memorial service celebrating Mary's life will be held on Aug. 27, 2011, at 11 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
