Mary Beth Pomeroy, 64, of Traverse City, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Munson Medical Center.

Mary was born in Ludington, Michigan on August 4, 1959 and grew up in Traverse City, Michigan with her four brothers. As the only girl she joined right in with the boys and earned her competitive spirit. She graduated from Saint Francis High School in 1977.

She married the love of her life, Clark Pomeroy, on August 24, 1979 and they have lived happily enjoying each other and many activities for 44 years together. They created and ran Pomeroy Home Furnishings as a reputable family owned and operated business. Mary was very proud of her family and no one did motherhood better. Together they played many sports and put in many miles to events all over the country supporting their kids and grandkids.

Mary enjoyed tennis, softball, pickleball, riding her bike, reading and playing games with family and friends. She was very skilled at creating activities to do with her grandkids that they will always cherish.

Mary is survived by her loving husband, Clark Pomeroy, daughter, Kim Eising (Tyler) and son, Dan Pomeroy (Rhonda), grandkids, Kylee Eising, Zach Eising and Luke Pomeroy; siblings; Larry Hathaway (Diana), Rick Hathaway (Pam), Paul Hathaway (Maryanna), Chuck Hathaway (Nancy), brother-in-law, Rick Pomeroy (Jane) and brother-in-law, Scott Pomeroy (Chris), Jennifer Hegener (John), Beth Price and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Family meant the world to Mary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; father, Charles Hathaway, mother Dorothy and step-mother Ruth, along with her mother-in-law, Joanne Pomeroy, father-in-law, Richard Pomeroy (Elizabeth), brother-in-law, John Pomeroy (Mary Jo) and sister-in-law, Traci Pomeroy (Nathan Welch).

Our family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all the family and friends that have reached out offering support.

Friends are welcome to visit with Mary's family from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St., Traverse City, Michigan 49684. Followed by a 7:00 p.m. Rosary.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 noon, with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 630 S. West Silver Lake Rd, Traverse City, Michigan 49685. Fr. Joe Muszklewiz will officiate.
