TRAVERSE CITY — Mary Ann Stockfisch, 64, of Traverse City, passed away at home on Oct. 26, 2011. Mary Ann was born on Nov. 28, 1946, in New Castle, Pa. She was the only daughter of Horace E. and Zetta A. Hall. On Nov. 8, 1969, Mary Ann married the love of her life, Dave Stockfisch, in Hallston, Pa. Shortly after, they moved to Traverse City where they made their home. In January of 1970 she began her career as a nurse at Munson Medical Center. After 40 years of faithful service, she retired in February of 2010. In her spare time Mary Ann enjoyed reading and would often get five or six books at a time from the library. She also loved to cook for her friends and family. If someone was ill or unable to cook, she would often bring over a meal or two. She was a very selfless person and was always helping those around her. Mary Ann was dedicated to her faith and she thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship that came with being a member of East Bay Calvary Church. Mary Ann will be missed greatly by all those who knew and loved, her including her husband of 41 years, Dave; son, Sean (Angela); grandchildren, Spencer, Nathan, Jorie and Ellery; brother, John (Wendy) Hall; several nieces and nephews; and brothers-in-law, Harold (Jane) and John (Diane). Mary Ann was preceded in death by her brothers, Tom and George. Visitation for friends and family will be held on Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. The funeral will take place on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in honor of Mary Ann may be directed to East Bay Calvary Church or WLJN Radio.
