Matthew J Weatherholt

Matthew J. Weatherholt, 47 of Traverse City died Tuesday, October 8th surrounded by his loving family. Matthew was born August 8th 1966 in Traverse City to Philip and Marguerite (Vincent) Weatherholt. He attended Traverse City St. Francis and graduated in 1985. He married Nancy Braciak on October 24th, 1995. His greatest joy in life was his family and his beautiful girls Maddy and Abby who gave him the family he always wanted.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Weatherholt, daughters Madalyn Hope and Abigail Faith, parents Philip and Marguerite Weatherholt, brothers; Mark (Maristella) and David (Tracey) Weatherholt, sisters; Mary Anne (Mark) Avery, Sara (Robert) O'Hara and Ellen (Matthew) Lambert, brothers-in-law; Dennis (Karrie) McLenithan, Brian (Pam) McLenithan, Tim (Jan) McLenithan and Brett (Kelly) Braciak and many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and so many dear friends.

Matthew was an incredible man, husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was very close with his parents and siblings and loved spending time on the Weatherholt farm. Some of his best friends included his siblings, nephews and cousins. He was known affectionately as "Foo Foo" by his adoring family. He was an avid outdoors-man and loved to fish and hunt, especially hunting at the Weatherholt cabin in the Upper Peninsula with his dad and brother. He also loved biking, skiing, boating, archery, traveling and camping with his family. Matthew was a huge sports fan and enjoyed watching his Red Wings, Lions, Spartans and Pistons. He learned his love of sports from his mother and sisters and passed that love onto his girls. He enjoyed coaching the girls' basketball teams.
Matthew was loved by all that knew him. He was the kindest and sweetest soul and loved his life fully. He will be loved and missed every day and remembered for his beautiful, kind and loving spirit and his fierce loyalty. Our Daddy is in heaven with his "Red Wings" on.

Visitation will be held Friday October 11th, 2013 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. A Mass honoring Matthew will take place Saturday October 12th, 2013 11:00am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 720 2nd St. Traverse City with visitation one hour prior.
