Traverse City - Maxine Cross, 85 of Traverse City passed away January 17, 2013 at her home.

Maxine was born on May 26, 1927 in Hannah to the late Arlington and Grace Weber.

Maxine was an underwriter for Lake State Insurance Company. In her younger years she was a member of the Sweet Adelines. After her retirement in the 1980's she enjoyed traveling, crocheting and knitting. She also liked to complete jigsaw puzzels and was a proud member of the Red Hat Society.

Maxine is survived by her children Sandy Hendges of Traverse City, Terrance (Terry Jo) Umlor of Kingsley, and Pamela "P.J." Umlor of Kingsley, step son Michael Cross, grandchildren Jennie, Weslee, Clayton (Susan), Anna, Rick, and Michael, great grandchildren Conrad and Mason, brothers James and Andrew Weber of Oregon and foster mother Ruth Goodman.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband Donovan Burton Cross and eleven brothers and sisters.

Per Maxine's wishes cremation has taken place and she will be remembered privately by her family.
