TRAVERSE CITY — Maxine Page, 73, of Traverse City, formerly of Southfield, passed away Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.Maxine was born Dec. 20, 1937, to the late Thomas M. and Beddie May (Hampton) Gill, in McClelland, Ark.What began due to a chance encounter at the pool of the Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island resulted in marriage. On Aug. 29, 1964, Maxine entered into marriage with Robert L. "Bob" Page in Southfield.Maxine was a graduate of Riverview High School and went to become a registered nurse through the nursing program at Wayne State University and Highland Park Hospital.Maxine and Bob made their way to the area in 1975. Maxine could often be found enjoying a good book or reading her Bible daily. In earlier years she enjoyed skiing, bowling and square dancing.Maxine is survived by her loving family, her daughter, Holly (Billy) Sullivan, of Kennesaw, Ga., her son, Mark Page, of Traverse City; her two grandchildren, Delaney and Gable; two brothers, Dale Gill, of Temperance, and Danion (Janice) Gill, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; her sister, Carolyn Gill, of Brownstown Township; and many other loving family members and friends.Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, in 2008; and her parents.Funeral services will take place at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with the Rev. Fred D. Milligan Jr. officiating.
