Obituary

Traverse City-Melba C. Paselk, 88, of Traverse City, died Christmas evening, December 25, 2012, at Bortz Health Care, following a brief illness.

Born November 11, 1924, on the family farm in Mesick, she was one of fourteen children born to the late Abel and Sadie (Krueson) Henschell.

Melba was a long time member of Central United Methodist Church.

She owned and operated Jan and Jeb Fashions, worked at J. C. Penney and retired from the Marriott Corporation after many years of employment.

As her hobbies she enjoyed bowling, golfing, traveling and relished the wonderful life she lived. She will be fondly remembered as a giving and caring women who was truly loved by her large family. It was often said, she was the glue that held the family together. .

Melba is survived by her two sons, Jerry (Judy) Denoyer, of Cedar and Robert (Helen) Denoyer, of Traverse City; sister, Ruth Bruce, of Salida, CA ; brothers, Bill (Agnes) Henschell, of St. Clair Shores, Don (Kathy) Henschell, of Grawn, Jerry (June) Henschell, of Saginaw, Leonard Henschell, of Gladwin and Michael (Marilyn) Henschell, of Tucson, AZ along with four grandchildren, Derek Denoyer, Dallas Denoyer, Holly Galliway and Noel Denoyer; seven great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; siblings, Ethel David, Gertrude Henschell, Mary Mollender, Dorothy Buchan, Cecil E. Henschell, Jack Henschell, and Richard Henschell.

Graveside services will be held at Cornell Cemetery in Buckley at a later date.
