Merlin Guy Misner, known to his loved ones as Merl, peacefully passed away on February 4, 2024, in Traverse City, Michigan at the age of 95. Born on October 26, 1928, in Muskegon, Michigan, Merl led a remarkable life filled with love, kindness, and dedication.
Merl was a proud veteran, having served in the U.S. Merchant Marines during WWII. After his military service, Merl embarked on a successful career as the owner of
Tri-County Patrol. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, and trapping as well
as spending time with family, his dog, and watching wildlife.
He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Barb Misner, his stepdaughter, Deborah Schopieray, and his stepson, Gregory Brice. Merl was also blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Merl was preceded in death by his parents, William and Gladis Misner (Clute), his beloved wife, Elaine Misner, his son, William Misner, and his daughter, Lynn Sharp.
A private family service has taken place.
