Michael Anthony Ascione

Michael Anthony Ascione, 54, of Traverse City entered into eternal life on November 11, 2020. He passed away suddenly from cardiac arrest.
Mike was born on November 2, 1966 in Detroit. He grew up in Kalkaska, graduated from Kalkaska High School and later attended NMC.
He joined the family business and served as the President of American Waste for nearly 20 years.
His extraordinary kindness and generosity touched many lives. Mikes world was his family and friends. He was an incredible husband and loving father to his son and daughter. Mike had a huge heart and warm smile. His infectious laugh would brighten any room. One of his favorite things was being out on the water with family and friends.
Mike was deeply passionate about the community. He was involved with many charities and civic organizations. He had a brilliant mind for business, yet was the most humble individual you could meet. Simply put, he radiated pure joy. Mike will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Michael is survived by his wife Jeanne; daughter Marina and son Alex; mother Vida Ascione; sister Renee (Todd) Chwastek; brother Edward Ascione; brother-in-law John (Sheila) Withers; sister-in-law Mary Dawn (Dennis) Sullivan; brother-in-law Bill Withers; and nieces and nephews Anthony, Hallie, Emilie, Michael, William, Mary Kate, Elizabeth and Shannon.
Michael was preceded in death by his father Edward Paul Ascione and in-laws Charles and Dorothy Withers.
Private family services will be held to celebrate his life.
Memorial contributions in his honor may be directed to GTACS, Bethany Christian Services or St. Vincent De Paul.
