Michael Wayne Aslin, 52, of Traverse City passed away on Monday, July 16, 2012 at his home. He was born in Flint, Michigan on January 7, 1960 to David and Joan (Fuller) Aslin of Clio, Michigan. Michael was a 1978 graduate of Clio High School and attended Northwestern Michigan College of Traverse City, Michigan.
Michael's love of automobiles led him into a car salesman career for several dealerships in Michigan. He also had his own car broker business and worked with area dealerships. Michael was recently employed with Stromberg Carlson Products Inc. of Traverse City, Michigan. Michael's people skills were extraordinary and it seemed like he never met a person that he couldn't connect with through sports, trivia, nature, music, or cars. He loved God, his family, and friends and will be dearly missed by us all.
Michael is survived by his father; David Aslin of Traverse City, sisters; Lynda (Patrick) Frusti of Traverse City, Bonnie Tardivi of Henderson Nevada, Janice Aslin of Traverse City, his brother, Richard Aslin of Santa Rosa, California, and his Aunt Ilena of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He is mourned by his extended family which includes 6 nephews, 3 nieces, 2 great nephews, and 7 great nieces. Michael was preceded in death by his beloved mother Joan (Fuller) Aslin.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 27th at 11 a.m. at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Garfield Ave. in Traverse City. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 26th at St. Michael's Lutheran Church and again at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 27th. A private family committal service will be held at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Goodwill Inn of Traverse City in lieu of flowers.
