Michael Joseph Baker, 63, of Traverse City, Michigan, went quietly to see his Lord on March 15, 2015. Michael joined the Army in 1975, and served his country in Germany in the Military Police.
He married Sharon Kay Leach the love of his life, on September 17, 1983.
Sharon preceded him in death along with his foster parents, Robert and Lucile Lindsey.
Michael was a long time member of the Old Mission Peninsula United Methodist Church. The Lord was a major part of Michael's life.
He also loved NASCAR, and watched the racing whenever he had a chance.
He truly believed that God was a NASCAR fan. He loved motorcycle riding with his wife, and long drives on Saturdays with his wife looking for the elusive beanie babies, that had just been released. He will be missed by his brothers and sisters. Warren & Shirley Lindsey of Holly, MI., Marion & David Fuller of Cadillac, Mi., Martha & Don Mileke of Ludington, MI., and Wayne & Helen Mumford of Traverse City, MI., along with his mother-in-law, Lucile Leach; sister-in-law, Susan Leach; brother-in-laws, Stewert and Steve Leach and many nieces and nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 2PM on May 1st at the Old Mission Peninsula UMC.
Visitation will be one hour prior at the church with a luncheon to follow.
