Michael Jefferson Brubaker of Traverse City (formerly Gladwin) passed away quietly the morning of June 24, 2019. He was born July 1, 1946 in Gladwin to parents Dennis and Mary (Camron) Brubaker.
As a young man Mike entered the United States Army and served his country honorably. Although he was quiet about his service, he was a proud American.
Mike was a talented brook trout fisherman, who loved his special secret spots in Northern Michigan waterways and tributaries. He was an avid gardener, canning everything he grew himself.
Mike leaves behind his beloved life partner of over 25 years, Mary Chilson; siblings Jim and Karen Brubaker, Katie (Mike) Mullen, Mary Lou Moczulski, and Ruth (Harold) Lockwood; sisters-in-spirit Judi Creamer and Donna (Steve) Krueger; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will take place Sunday, June 30, 11AM, at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth Street, Traverse City, MI 49684. Family and friends will be received from 10AM until the time of service. Mike will be laid to rest in the Highland Cemetery, Gladwin, MI, at a later date.
