Michael M. "Mikie" Galligan, age 83 of Traverse City, Michigan passed on to the other side to be with his Lord on Sunday, October 30, 2022. He was born to Joseph and Seraphine (Burnett) Galligan on April 6, 1939, the seventh of ten children. Being raised on a farm, Mikie enjoyed the outdoors, working in his yard, cross-country skiing (He entered the 1st Vasa Ski Race, said he would never do another, and completed the next 36 of them), running, mountain and road biking. He retired from Consumers Energy after 32 years of service.

Michael is survived by his loving wife Judy K. (Wells) Galligan; children Sherry Y. (Bruce) Hacker, James M. (Brenda) Galligan; step-daughters Dawn D. (Michael) Castro, Stefanie L. Wagenschutz; grandchildren Nora and Holly Galligan, Zachary Fraedrich, Cassandra Castro, and Spencer and Nolan Yascolt; and siblings David, William, Janet, Kathleen, Elizabeth, and Susan.

Michael was proceeded in death by his parents; first wife, Frances A. (Mamagona) Galligan his first love and high school sweetheart, infant son, and siblings James, Marianne, and Patrick.

A memorial service will be celebrated by Rev. Jordan Starkenburg at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at The Presbyterian Church of Traverse City, 701 Westminster Road, Traverse City, MI 49686. Relatives and friends may call on the family during a time of visitation 30 minutes prior to the service.
