Michael (Mick) B. Kelly, age 87, passed on December 30, 2024, surrounded by his family; born in Pontiac, MI; retired to Traverse City, MI; later moved to Carrboro, NC.

Mick was the beloved husband of Brenda Wells Kelly for 68 years; devoted father to Dayna Kelly Webster (Ronnie); Susan Kelly of NC; Gramps and PaPa to his precious grandchildren and great grandchildren, Nisa Kelly of HI, Ella Rose Trout, Michael, Thomas, Astrid Roberts of NC; Layla and Tristan. Also surviving are sister Chris Hart of TX, and brother-in-law, Mike Wells of MI; nieces and nephews.

Always grateful for his blessings, Mick will be remembered for his love of family, kindness, humor, optimism, creating and carving canes, walking sticks, Eagle heads and Morels. He enjoyed golfing as well as fishing and boating in Lake Michigan.

Mick was a US Navy Veteran; Graduate of Lawrence Institute of Technology. He retired from General Motors, and pursued a second career as a licensed contractor, building and renovating homes.

Mick had a calm, inviting presence, making everyone feel loved and welcomed. He often entertained family and friends with his humor, and his dinner table stories of life's adventures were especially loved by his children and grandchildren.

Parents, Charles and Astrid Strom Kelly; son, Steven Kelly; sister, Maureen Brennan; and brother, Roger Kelly preceded Mick in death.

Interment in August, Peninsula Twp., Traverse City, and a celebration of his life will follow. Memorials may be made to Grace Church, Jubilee House Traverse City.
