LAKE ANN — Michael W. "Mac" McIntosh, 57, life-long resident of the area, passed away Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at his home in Lake Ann, with his family by his side.Michael Wayne McIntosh was born Jan. 25, 1953, to Wayne and June (Blackmore) McIntosh, in Traverse City. Mac grew up in the area, attending school and graduating from Traverse City High School in 1972. After an introduction from some roommates, Mac began a relationship that would result in marriage with the former Michelle McNutt on April 2, 1983.Together Michelle and Mac settled in Lake Ann, where they began the project of building a home and a family. They constructed the house as their family grew with the addition of two daughters. Mac built memories as he would cheer for his girls during school sporting events or continue the tradition of Santa, wearing the suit his mother made for him year after year.Mac enjoyed the outdoors and could often be found spending time on the water. He would venture out in his fishing boat to many of the area inland lakes. Mac also liked to hunt and would spend time in the fall hunting for deer and the occasional small game.Mac will be remembered as a loving husband and father who enjoyed time with his family, and as an extremely proud grandfather, a title that brought him great joy.Michael is survived by his wife, Michelle McIntosh; daughters, Corrie McIntosh, and Tonya (Craig) Woodworth; three grandchildren, Brett, Sean and Kylie; his mother, June McIntosh; two sisters, Debra and Sandra McIntosh; a niece and nephew, Jessica and Joshua Hiday; many great-nieces and -nephews; as well as other loving family members and friends.Michael was preceded in death by his father, Wayne.Visitation for friends and family will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, also at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
