Michael Raymond Morin, age 67, of Rapid City, MI, formerly of Rochester Hills and Erie, MI; passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Nancy (Lecurgo) Morin, and married for over 46 years. Devoted father of Michele (Daniel) Daly of Troy and Danielle (Eric) Benninger of Livonia. Adored by five grandchildren, Elise and Brendan Daly; and Jacob, Andrew and William Benninger; and step grandson Sean Daly of Chicago. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues. He was predeceased by parents Raymond and Mary (Warner) Morin.
Mike was a wonderful provider, working as a chemist and process engineer and as a partner at Mid-Western Processes, Inc. in Madison Heights before his retirement. Not being able to slow down, he consulted for Abtrex Industries in Inkster. He graduated from Michigan Technological University in 1970 with a bachelor of science in Chemical Engineering.
Mike was an avid boater and always said, "A bad day on the lake is better than a good day at the office!" He had a wonderful sense of humor and could paint pictures with his words as he told stories. He was never at a loss for words, amazingly able to answer any question and fix nearly anything, always ready with a bright smile and a joke. He made people happy just being near him.
