TRAVERSE CITY – Michael Stevens, age 84, of Traverse City passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Cherry Hill Haven of Traverse City in the loving care of his family.

Michael was born in Detroit on May 29, 1934 to William and Myrtle (Williamson) Stevens. Michael moved to Traverse City in 1949. On May 5, 1974 he married Helen McGill. He worked for Behler-Young Co. for most of his working career. Michael enjoyed; fishing, walking, playing euchre, outdoor activities, carpentry, and was quite the handyman. He was a member and usher of Christ The King Church in Acme for many years.

Michael is survived by his step-son, James (Barb) Gauthier, step-daughters; Charlene (Ron) Dupraz, Linda (Rick) Middaugh, brother, William Stevens. Step-grandchildren; Kit (Stuart) Stock, John (Kristin) Trent, Amber Gauthier, Lindsay (Daniel) Gibson, Matthew Middaugh and Melissa (Cory Jr.) Dean, many step-great grandchildren, and sister-in-law Dorothy Walt.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Helen, and sister, Marie Grosso, and step-granddaughter, Bethany.

A memorial service celebrating the life of both Michael Stevens and John Gauthier will take place on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Acme at 11:00 am with a visitation one hour prior. Father James Hayden will officiate. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service. Interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
