Michael William Wagoner

Traverse City resident, Michael William Wagoner, age 53, died unexpectedly March 9, 2023 at home. He was born August 12, 1969 in Lakeview, Michigan to William and Toni (Dundon) Wagoner.

Mike lived in Howard City and Pierson, Michigan with his parents and brother, Steve, until his graduation from Tri County Area Schools in 1987. He was an honor student, and he was involved in high school athletics, participating in football, basketball and track all four years. Upon graduation in 1987, he enrolled at Central Michigan University, in Mount Pleasant, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree.

Mike and his brother, Steve, established Wagoner Landscaping in Traverse City, Michigan, which they co-owned from 1998 to the present. They were very proud of the many landscapes they created in the Traverse City area.

Mike and Steve enjoyed coaching both boys' and girls' basketball for many years together. They had traveling teams for both groups.

Mike is survived by his parents, his brother, his nephew, Brian Wagoner and his niece, Erin Wagoner. His family and friends will miss his wonderful sense of humor, quick wit and kindness.

Cremation has taken place, and there will be no visitation. Interment will be at Grand Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Traverse City.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, or to the donor's choice.
