TRAVERSE CITY - Michael Nicholls, age 53, of Traverse City, passed away Monday, August 14, 2017.

Michael was born December 17, 1963 to Jack Alexander and Dorothy Patricia (Smith) Walsh in Farmington and was the baby of 8 kids.
Mike was a snappy dresser, always had a fondness for hats and his great smile lit up a room whenever he walked in. He was fun loving, had a great sense of humor, and was extremely smart and intelligent. He never liked to sit still and was always on the move. He loved playing golf and was most noted for his hole in one out at the Dunes Golf Club. He loved to play poker and play pool with a Labatts in hand. His daughters credit him for their love of the water and all the family time spent on the boat at the Narrows.
Mike was a beloved father, son and brother. He is survived by his daughters; Abigail and Jillian, his mom, his partner Lori Shirley, brothers and sisters; Bill (Cheryle) Nicholls, JoAnn Smith, Barb Stafford, Jim (Joanne) Nicholls, Peggy (Miles) Bentley, Steve (Judy) Nicholls and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Michael will take place at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 11:00 am with a visitation one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, those considering an expression of sympathy may do so to Mike's daughters for their education funds, in care of Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home; 305 Sixth Street, Traverse City, MI 49684.
