Obituary

Myrna Arlene Way Dykhuis, born on September 27, 1938 in Traverse City, Michigan, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025. She was the cherished daughter of Clyde and Margot (Gee) Way, whose love and guidance shaped the compassionate, steady, and generous woman she became.

Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, as well as several of her brothers, including George Way, Gordon Way, Larry Way, and Kenneth Way. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.

She is survived by her devoted husband, John Dykhuis, her daughter Sandra, and her son John Jr. She also leaves behind her brothers Marvin Way and Maurice Way, along with many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great‑grandchildren who will carry forward her legacy of love, warmth, and quiet strength.

Myrna had a gift for bringing people together. She loved hosting gatherings for friends and family, and there was always room at her table for one more. Her home was a place of welcome, laughter, and shared meals. She also found joy in decorating cakes for birthdays, weddings, and special celebrations — a creative expression of her love that became a treasured tradition for the children and families in her life.

Music was one of Myrna's greatest joys. She loved playing both the piano and the accordion, filling her home with melodies that brought comfort and happiness to those around her. Gospel music held a special place in her heart, and she often played and listened to it with deep appreciation and faith.

Myrna retired from the Lear Corporation, but her commitment to helping others never slowed. She continued working with various senior groups well into her seventies, offering companionship, support, and a warm presence to those who needed it most. Her dedication to serving others was a true reflection of her generous spirit.

She will be remembered for the kindness she extended to others, the steadiness she brought to every chapter of her life, and the deep love she held for her family. Her presence enriched the lives of all who knew her, and her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

A celebration of Myrna's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her remarkable journey and the lasting impact she made.
